Welcome to Confiserie Cafe Gmeiner. Nestled in the heart of Offenburg at Steinstraße 2, this charming café has been a beloved local treasure since its establishment in 1938. With its time-honored traditions and a cozy atmosphere, it serves as the perfect spot for gatherings with friends, romantic outings, or an indulgent afternoon break.

Step inside and be enchanted by the delightful sights and smells wafting through the air—everything from freshly baked pastries to artisanal chocolates awaits you. The extensive menu offers not only a selection of divine desserts, cakes, and pies but also savory options like fresh salads and hearty lunches. As customer Olga S notes, "Everything is fresh, good looking, good smelling. Like in old good times." This sentiment perfectly captures the warm nostalgia that fills the air at Gmeiner.

The café showcases the culinary craftsmanship of its chocolate artisans, with options that include exquisite cakes such as the highly praised Black Forest cake, shall we say—a masterpiece renowned for its rich flavor. If you prefer a lighter meal, the salads and other lunch items are equally well-crafted and satisfying.

Customer experiences highlight the café's welcoming environment. M Bester recalls a return visit where "the service was 100% perfection," featuring friendly staff who make every effort to ensure a delightful experience. Hussain Baqer echoes this sentiment, praising the great service and delicious offerings, while Claire CD describes Gmeiner as "one of the posh Cafes in Offenburg," where locals gather to enjoy its cozy and inviting setting.

While some visitors note that prices might be on the higher side, especially for its delectable afternoon tea—served from 2 PM at €23.90—it’s often seen as an experience worth indulging in due to the overall appeal and charming atmosphere. "Despite this, the overall experience is pleasant and worth trying," mentions Big Dream, a testament to the café’s charm and quality.

This is a nice and old kind of a place with traditions. Opened since 1938, the Cafe is offering delicious deserts, cakes, pies and other pattiserie. Also you can eat a salad or a lunch, have tea or coffee or wine. Good place for friends meeting or even for some couple romantic night out. Everything is fresh, good looking, good smelling. Like in old good times. Recommended. PS they have cafes also in few German towns and in Japan(!!!)

I came here a few years ago and the food was so good that I had to come back. Back then, the service was really snooty, but I accepted that as just part of German confisserie service. This time, I was pleasantly surprised - the service was 100% perfection. Our waitress was friendly and smiley and we didn’t have to wait at all to be seated, to order or to pay. The woman working behind the Theke was just as nice. The staff seemed relaxed and at each with each other, something I always like to see: no one wants to see managers treating employees bad. I will keep coming back - I had the avocado toast which was beautiful to look at, filling, and tasty.

One of the posh Cafe in Offenburg. It's above average. You 'll see a lot of locals. Place is cozy. Pastries are yummy. Although, I find it bit pricey compare to other cafe's.

Amazing black Forrest cake and a rich dessert menu that looks very attractive and delicious. We enjoyed the black Forrest a lot and regret I did not have the time to have more of those cakes! In the centre of Offenburg.

Very busy in the afternoon, this café offers pastries and confections at reasonable prices. The Afternoon Tea option, served from 2 PM, includes various treats, but in my opinion, it's a bit pricey at 23.90 euros. Despite this, the overall experience is pleasant and worth trying.
